Short version
GlobalCalc does not collect, store, or sell your personal data. No accounts, no sign-up, no calculation history. Your inputs are processed server-side to produce a result and are not persisted anywhere. We serve Google AdSense ads, which may use cookies as described below.
1. Who we are
GlobalCalc is a free online calculator service. The site is operated by the GlobalCalc team. For questions about this policy, contact us via the feedback link in the navigation.
2. Data we do not collect
- ✓ No user accounts or registration
- ✓ No calculation inputs saved to a database
- ✓ No email addresses, names, or contact details
- ✓ No persistent first-party cookies beyond what is listed below
3. Data we do collect
3a. Server logs
Like all web servers, ours records standard access logs: IP address, browser user-agent, page URL, timestamp, and HTTP status code. These are used solely for security and uptime monitoring and are not linked to any personal identity. Logs are retained for up to 30 days.
3b. Session cookie (language preference)
When you select a language, we store your preference in a server-side session. A session cookie (globalcalc_session) is set on your browser to reference this session. It expires when you close your browser (session cookie) and contains no personally identifiable information.
3c. Google AdSense
We display ads served by Google AdSense. Google may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to show you relevant advertisements based on your interests. This is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and its advertising partners' policies.
You can opt out of personalised advertising via Google Ad Settings or the NAI opt-out tool.
3d. External API calls
The currency converter fetches exchange rates from ExchangeRate-API. This request is made server-to-server; your IP address or any personal data is not forwarded to ExchangeRate-API.
4. How we use data
The server log data described in 3a is used only to:
- Diagnose server errors and security incidents
- Monitor service availability
We do not sell, rent, or share any data with third parties for marketing purposes.
5. Your rights (GDPR / UK GDPR)
If you are based in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to:
- Access personal data we hold about you
- Request correction or deletion of that data
- Object to processing
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
Because we hold only server logs (no linked identity) and a session token, there is typically no personal data to retrieve or delete. If you believe we hold data about you, contact us and we will investigate within 30 days.
6. Children
GlobalCalc is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our practices change. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the site constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
